About Me

Duncan Loasby Psychotherapy: I am a psychotherapist with 20 years experience of working in mental health, both with adults and adolescents. I have a Master of Science in Medicine (Psychotherapy) and a Master of Mental Health Nursing, both from the University of Sydney. Over the years I have worked with a wide range of clients both in Australia and overseas. My clinical practice is focused on psychodynamic psychotherapy in the Conversational Model. This is an integrative contemporary model of psychotherapy, with proven effectiveness, particularly with persons suffering personality disorders. My specialty is longer-term work, I offer short and medium-term treatments. I work with adults and adolescents suffering from anxiety, depression, adjustment problems, personality issues and trauma-related problems. I have an interest in the interplay between psychotherapy and philosophy, particularly existentialism and postmodernism, which informs my approach to providing therapy.
